Class Teacher
Full time – KS2
Fixed Term Maternity Cover – January 2027
Open to RQT / Qualified Teaching Staff
Kingsthorpe Village Primary is a one form entry primary school with 206 pupils currently on roll. The school has the advantage of being well resourced and has its very own Wellbeing Hub. Staff and pupil wellbeing remain a key driver at the school and both pupils and staff are highly conscientious and hardworking. KVPS is a wonderful place to work and teacher vacancies at our school do not come around often. Parents and governors are highly supportive of the school and there exists a strong community spirit.
We are looking for a class teacher, full-time to cover maternity leave on a fixed term contract to start Easter 2026 (13th April 2026). We are seeking a teacher who understands what learning is and can make it meaningful for all our children on a daily basis.
This is an exciting opportunity for a creative class teacher to join our fabulous team at KVPS. We can offer excellently behaved pupils who are resilient and enjoy their learning. Our children and teachers take pride in their school with our three key drivers being The Arts, Wellbeing and Initiative. We have a vast range of staff expertise and experience across the school and for the last decade have performed at the recognised “GOOD” level with Ofsted as a grant-maintained school. In January 2026 we were inspected by Ofsted under the new framework and received ‘Met All Expectations’ which we are enormously proud of. Our curriculum is highly developed, inspiring and fun.
We are looking for someone who has a real passion for teaching and learning and wants to provide the best for our children. Quality CPD, coaching and access to genuine support from the senior leadership team is on offer alongside a friendly and highly caring ethos.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and safer recruitment practice. Where a role involves engaging in regulated activity relevant to children, please note that it is an offence to apply for the role if the applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children. The school reserves the right to conduct a search for shortlisted candidates on social media platforms and the internet, and the recruitment panel may take this information into consideration during the recruitment process.
